Music in the Park postponed until 2021
The annual Music in the Park event, sponsored by the Staples Motley Area Arts Council, has been canceled for this summer.  Board members made the difficult decision after consulting with Todd County Public Health, due to numerous restrictions in place because of COVID-19.

Although the guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) have changed week to week, at the time the decision was made, it was not feasible to host concerts at Northern Pacific Park. The safety of those attending the concerts, as well as that of the musicians, was a guiding factor in the groups’ decision. In addition, a few bands had already made the decision to cancel due to the unknowns of the coronavirus.

The arts council is grateful for the generous donation of the Staples Host Lions Club, which funds this annual event. After consulting with them, the Lions requested that this year’s funds be used for the 2021 Music in the Park series. The event is typically held for six Sunday evenings beginning after the Fourth of July holiday.
